Manuka honey producer Comvita has won the top accolade in the Retail Award category at the 2021 Interior Awards with its Wellness Lab experiential space in downtown Auckland.
Launched earlier this year, the space features a tasting tour that helps visitors explore mono-floral honey through five senses, including smell, touch, sight, and hearing.
Judges’ comments said Wellness Lab goes beyond traditional concepts of retail, bringing seamless multi-channel integration via a 3D virtual store.
“It is a great acknowledgement of our brand direction as we look to roll out this experience in other markets around the world,” said David Banfield, CEO of Comvita Group. “The consumer reaction to being invited to help us create a world where bees thrive has been exceptional.”
Comvita Wellness Lab was designed in collaboration with agency Blur the Lines, housing a 180-degree theatre which hosts a 45-minute tasting journey by beekeeper and bee-breeder Noelani Waters.
