Using new hybrid work devices to promote collaboration equity


Over the last year, the hybrid workplace has been all the rage. The demand for fluid on-site and remote video experiences is increasing rapidly, with more hybrid workers returning to the office than at any time in the last two years. Our goal at BlueJeans is to give our customers the freedom to hold interesting and effective meetings of any size and from any location.


We announced new capabilities for BlueJeans Mobile for Android and iOS, as well as new as-a-service packaging choices for BlueJeans Rooms, at Enterprise Connect today (March 21-24). The latest improvements to the BlueJeans platform deliver a new set of functionality across work modes—office, home, or remote/field—to enable the workflow consistency and inclusivity teams need to be effective in today's anytime, anywhere work environment. Flexible work models that meet employees where and how they wish to work, as well as the flexibility to adjust these models as new situations occur, are part of this.


Mobile Productivity Unleashed


BlueJeans has added new features to BlueJeans Mobile to facilitate smooth collaboration from the office to the field, encouraging all employees to do their best job.


Conference Room Access with Zero Touch


Meeting participants will be able to utilise their mobile device to start and control meetings running on their conference room systems using legacy standards-based endpoints (SIP/H.323) and the new Android-based experience for BlueJeans Rooms. The mobile user can attend a meeting through the mobile app and then control the experience with audio/video controls using a new pairing code on the in-room monitor and a new Pair with Room button in the mobile app. The meeting room calendar will be synced to the mobile user's calendar after they've been paired. Users on the go will appreciate Meeting Shift, which automatically connects a mobile user with a conference room in-meeting and switches the meeting to the room using the same Pair with Room methodology.

iOS and Android users can now access the BlueJeans Collaboration Board on their mobile devices, enhancing meeting equity for faraway guests. Collab Board delivers an integrated, unlimited canvas for brainstorming collaboration that is just a click away, with simultaneous co-creation for up to 25 users.


Making Work-From-Home (WFH) Interactivity


The latest updates to the BlueJeans Meetings software for Meta Portal enable a simple, dedicated home office video calling device for productive, engaging meetings, providing a more immersive video conference experience without the standard computer distractions. BlueJeans on Portal now includes features to support meeting inclusivity, such as Raise Hand, Closed Captioning, and improved Speaker Tracking, in addition to existing support for 5x5 gallery view, background blur, and in-meeting chat, to help improve engagement with a dedicated video conferencing device. Restricted Meetings and Hardware Mute have been added to BlueJeans on Portal, enhancing meeting control, while the ability to instantly share a screen from a laptop or desktop during the meeting via a URL link improves meeting flow and interactivity.


Improving Team Collaboration with Office


According to Frost & Sullivan, there are 110 million conference rooms and classrooms in the world, but only 6.4 percent of them are video-enabled. BlueJeans is pleased to offer two types of flexible conference room packages, allowing in-office workers to enjoy a more uniform and equal meeting experience.


These new BlueJeans offerings were created to give facilities managers more flexibility as they build out their next-generation workspaces by providing predictable pricing, a simplified OpEx-focused approval process, and the convenience of adding more hardware and software bundles as needed, all from a single vendor.


Poly and BlueJeans Rooms-as-a-Service


A Rooms-as-a-Service relationship will make Poly's native Android BlueJeans Rooms experience available. Customers can immediately transform how conference room-bound employees can participate in hybrid meetings with BlueJeans Rooms-as-a-Service running on the Poly Studio X30 and X50 thanks to a simplified subscription offering that combines BlueJeans Rooms software, Poly hardware, maintenance, and support. The Poly X Series includes broadcast-quality video with Poly DirectorAI technology, which uses artificial intelligence and machine learning to deliver real-time automatic transitions, framing, and tracking, as well as NoiseBlockAI and Acoustic Fence technologies, which block out unwanted background noise to guarantee everyone has a seat at the virtual table. Plus meetings with Owl Labs


Organizations of all sizes will soon be willing to procure the Meeting Owl® Pro and a package of BlueJeans Meetings Enterprise licences in a packaged offering for a simple, cost-effective monthly subscription, allowing hybrid teams to simulate in-person participation. BlueJeans and Owl Labs are working to make any meeting an inclusive and collaborative experience for participants as the first 360-degree bundled video conferencing solution on the market.
